You may be a parent whose child was recently diagnosed or an adult who just got the news. You may be a family member or friend who wants to support someone who was newly diagnosed. Or you may be a teacher, school nurse, or neighbor who wants to learn more. Wherever you are on this NF journey, NF Central Plains is here with you and for you.
We encourage you to explore our website and join our mailing list to stay iNFormed on the latest NF news, research updates, educational programs and social events.
NF Central Plains will also send you a packet of materials to help familiarize yourself with NF in general and help explain the diagnosis to others. Contact us at nfcentralplains@gmail.com to request a packet.
If you have a specific concern (e.g., medical, emotional, financial) or simply want to connect with others living with NF, contact us about your needs.
An NF diagnosis affects the whole family one way or another. The Sibling Support Project can be a valuable resource. Founded in 1990, it is the first national program dedicated to recognizing, promoting and addressing the life-long and ever-changing concerns of millions of siblings of people with developmental, health, and mental health concerns. The Sibling Support Project offers on-line communities, publications, and workshops. Check out www.siblingsupport.org.
